No matter
your age, it’s
vital that we
know who God
created us
to be
so that we can
lead the lives
He intended us
live
to help keep our students focussed and to be
driven towards succeeding in those goals. The
comradery exhibited between staff and students
through these events and many more exemplifies
the nurturing aspect of Hillcrest’s Senior School
and the wonderful maturity of our students.

Year 11 Debutante Ball
This year the Debutant Ball was held on Friday,
16th September. Mrs Fidler was the main
organiser and she did an amazing job at getting
students prepared for the big day. The venue was
The Grand in Wantirna South where Mr and Mrs
Swanborough were special guests and received
the Debutantes and their partners.
The highlight for the evening was the formal
dance in which all debutantes displayed excellent
choreography dressed in formal attire. Mr Jacobs
was the MC and Mr Novak and Miss Stubley
professionally introduced each couple. This event
required a lot of sacrifice from the Debutants in
the form of disciplined practice and commitment.
A bunch of tired Debutantes rounded the
night off by just having fun on the dance floor
with family and friends. This was yet again a
memorable event in the lives of our young men
and ladies.

One Chapter Nearly Finished, Another About
To Begin
At Hillcrest, our Year 12 students are coming
to the end of their VCE. My prayer for the Year
12 students is to finish strong. All of the hard
work that has been invested into them will set
them up for a bright future, where they will
go out into the world and make a significant
contribution.

upheld, each student completing a Unit 3/4
subject have been encouraged to attend
revision /academic lectures from a number
of providers. At these lectures, students
will receive exam tips, study strategies and
revision hints which will give them confidence
in completing their exam/s to the best of their
abilities.
Mr Schnabel has also been presenting some
overall strategies of how to approach their
exams through study tips and examination
rules from VCAA.

foster a community spirit among our seniors.
An Italian lunch was provided for the Year
