Term 3 is always a busy time with a range of
activities across the College, as well as
the completion of a majority of the
planning for the following year. The
Executive team has been occupied
with decisions around new staffing
appointments for 2017, as well
as budget formation and many
issues around the ongoing
development of Hillcrest into the
future. Whilst not a lot can be seen
yet with regards to new Hillcrest
building projects, there have been
multiple meetings with architects
and builders to discuss upcoming
projects.
On the strategic planning front, the Crest Board
recently accepted the draft 2017-2019 Strategic Plan
which provides a clear framework for the next three years. I
am very impressed with the work which has been done by
the Hillcrest staff under the guidance and direction of the
Head of College, Dr GreggWeaver. I look forward to seeing
the unfolding of this through successive annual plans
as we seek to be a ‘leading provider of quality Christian
education’ as espoused in the College’s vision
statement.
In addition, we now have a
comprehensive
Child
Safety
framework in place in response
to the call of the Victorian
Government to ensure that every
school, including Hillcrest, is a safe
place for all current and future
students. The staff and teaching
contractors, along with all parent
volunteers, have been required to
sign a declaration of compliance to
our new Child Safe Code of Conduct –
a simple yet important reminder that we
owe a great duty of care to all children who
attend this wonderful school.
As we head towards Term 4, I pray that the end of this
school year will continue to be fruitful and productive as
we seek God’s blessing on all we do.
